Term 1,2,3 and 4 reflection

 Term 1 : my greatest highlight was camp this was a great opportunity and was great fun and it was a great time to make new friends.I also found that the activities were fun and interesting.A down side of term 1 was that the term had to finish early  because of coronavirus this was sad because it also took lots of term 2 away.

Term 3 The best part of term 3 was that lockdown finished and that all the online learning had finished and school could go back to normal This was great and I was able to see my friends.A bad part of term 3 was that 

Term 4 The great part of term 4 was surfing, it was the first time surfing and at first i was not so confident and then after the first time  gained a lot of confidence and now I enjoy it.

 last Friday the whole class got to go to jelly park, this was for the year 8s since we are leaving this year and all the other years 7s were able to come too. We left in two buses they were nice and cool with the air con.When we arrived we got changed and then we got to go and do whatever we wanted to do, but sadly we were not able to go in the inside pools, But there was lots to do outside such as the hydro slides and the outdoor pool and the diving pool which was 3 meters deep.My favorite hydro slide was the swirly one because it propels you a bit of the slide when you take the tight turn near the end of the ride. Another great part of jellie park was we were able to sit down and do nothing and talk in the sun.This was great so I would have a few turns on the hydro slide and then go and sit down and get warm and then go out again.

today in maths i did tessellation this is when shapes fit into the same shape, there are four examples above as you can see they all fit into each other with no gaps.

New playground.

 The new playground had finished and all the classes have been able to have a go on it, I think that the playground is really cool and I love the spinning wheel.This playground is not as good as the old one and is a lot better and the new playground is nowhere as big as the old one.I hope they add some extensions but is sort of decent for busted. 

Maths Construction

 Today for maths we made a octagonal pyramid this requires cutting out colored paper and then folded the dotted lines and then glued them together in total there was three separate parts of the process the base and the middle and the top.

Maths 10/11-construction of 3D solid

Today in maths I constructed a square based pyramid this required making a base out of coloured paper  and then drawing out a 4 cm by 4 cm square and then drawing 4 triangles with flaps and then gluing them all together. The height of the triangle was 6 cm.

1.When I greet someone it should be in a nice tone so they feel acknowledged and included and also liked.

2 when I make a mess when i eat i show integrity and pick it up without being told and also tell any others

to acknowledge the mess they have made as well.

3 When I talk I speak in a nice tone and keep at a good volume so I don't get into other personnel spaces

with my voice. This stops the class from getting disrupted.

4 when I say please and thank you i am being respectful and not expecting everything to be done for me.

5 I keep my hands to myself to stop disruption and not interfere with other people's personal space.

6 When I am around others I am kind, respectful and I look out for others that need help and never do

anything to disrupt learning and personal space.

7 When I speak kindly i make other people around me feel happy and safe.

8 When I think  about other people's feelings before saying something I make their day a lot easier and

also the people around me will feel more safe and happy and not scared to interact with other people.

9 When I compliment other people it should always be positive and never negative and it should include

being nice, respectful and acknowledging that person's space and feelings.

10 Bad language/swearing often sound aggressive and is very impolite and creates agro and stiffin the

whole classrooms intensity and it doesn't make me look intelligent or a decent human being.If i were to

not swear it would make the classroom a better environment and make a lot more people feel safe and

respected.

11 Kindness makes everyone feel better and speaking a nice pleasant voice will also create a good

learning environment and it is also a great way to show kindness.

12 Try and notice all the good things that other people do for you and think about the appreciation that

that person has put into that for example someone might compliment you about something but don't

ignore say thank you and acknowledge what they have just said to you this will also make you feel

better but it will also make them feel better.

13 Accept all of your wrongs this will make a bad situation and easy situation so just take the blame

and life will be easier.

14 be honest this will also make life easier and fix situations a lot quicker and if you don't be honest

someone else might have to take the blame and imagine how they would feel just because of your

bad integrity and cowardness.

15 Never say negative things this will make you feel more open and not so fake and you will be more

likable.

16 Give more compliments like a lot of other things that make you feel good inside and also make them

feel less shameful.Giving compliments also makes you feel better about yourself.

17.don't make other people wait for you so be on time this is a crucial part of having good manners.

18 Don't laugh at people this makes them feel really bad inside even though they might have looked like

they don't care but it probably hurt them deep inside so always be wary of what you do and say to other

people.

19.don't be a sore loser.This is a really bad way of showing bad manners it makes you look cocky and

makes you a bad person to be around and is not a good look.

Tangram Builder.

Today in maths I have been using this site called Mathigon to make tangrams.

For making tangrams I had to rotate flip and slide shapes to make the correct shape. For example the square for the head has been rotated to the side and the foot at the bottom has been flipped to fit.

My Blog.

 Today since i am staying back from skiing and am at school we have a fun day that consists of doing kahoot challenges and even a quizlet team challenge where groups of four have to work together to answer a set of questions and there is only one winning team.And after all the trivia games we went outside and played dodge ball and kicked a rugby ball around and had p[lay and came back and i am now doing blogging and i think after if the the class behaves we can go out and play ball rush and then go home.

My Short Story.

As i stumble down the windy road to my dead brother’s grave, this was the fifth time This week i had followed this lifeless walk but it felt like and eternity to me and my family,All my life is now is grief and pain and sorrow.As i turn the gravel corner i see in the clouding distance i see my brothers grave it is already overturned and looks  scarce the flowers alreader shredding away to smitery i carry a load of daffodils in my hand spring had come slowly this year dreading the wait to be able to see my brother again.I had been taken from the army i got shot by and M1918 BAR. and was forced to go home the letter that arrived by the mail man was heart breaking i already knew the fate i burt into tears and they carried on to days.

Maths What I Have Been Learning This Term

In math this term i have learnt various things but we started of learning how to divide and multiple decimals and leaning the formula.The formula is if you are dividing a a decimal the numbers will move to the left for how many 0s there is when you are dividing the number. Or when multiplying the numbers will move to the right depending on how many zero's there are.

I have also been learning how to find area of a triangle the formula is,you have to half the base number and then times the that number with the side of the triangle so the formula is written out like 1/2 b times H.

In the past week i have been learning how to calculate the area of a of a square and a square.The formula is length times width for example if the lengh was 8 and the width is 6 it is 6 times 8 and that means the area of the square is 48c2.

Today in maths i did a work sheet in finding perimeter and finding volume and leaning the formula for finding volume And finding the circumference and the radius and the diameter and learning the formula The formula for finding radius is to double the diameter and to find the circumference  is 2 times pi times radius.

In maths today I learnt how to calculate the volume of any shape and the formula  witch is length times width times height and this is the way to calculate the volume for example if the length was 3 meters and the width was 2 meters and the height was 3.5 i have to times 3 times 2 times 3.5 and that will give me the answer and that is the volume of the shape, the answer was  21m3

We did several other problems and they kept getting harder and another problem we had to solve was the length was 11 meters and the width was 16 meters and the height was 1.5 meters and then I times them all and I came up 264m3 and I got it right and then we had to figure the problem out if it was 4 dollars per square metres and I was a little off because when I times the numbers I forgot to add the bottom line when I was doing standard written form but the correct answer was $1056.  

Maths 4/8/2020 Estimating distances

Today in maths I did an estimation task of where I had to estimate a certain distance of using every second foot step for a certain amount of paces and when we got to our designated distance we added them up using our key and I had 70 steps for 1 hundred metres  and out of 500 meters it was 350 second steps and so on.This was to help measuring our distances with out any calculator or devices and increasing our estimating distancing.
